The Pursuits

14 fully automated sporting clays stations set across rolling cover, a Skeet and Trap field, and five-stand shooting. A sporting course that rewards the steady hand and an honest swing.
Year-round fishing on our many ponds and 60-acre lake, brimming with bass, pike, bluegill, crappie, and trout.
Bird dogs are the soul of this club. We offer training, boarding, and field work to members and the general public. From basic obedience to finished gun dogs.
Dining
Under the timbered ceiling of the clubhouse, the field gives way to the fire. From our classic cheeseburger and a warm cup of venison chili after a hunt, to a night of fine dining with locally sourced ingredients, our kitchen provides members with top tier dining experiences.
Lodging
When the last light leaves the fields, our lodges are waiting for you. We have several options for staying on site, allowing members and their guests to remain close to the action. A warm bed, an early breakfast, and dogs already waiting at first light.

Our Heritage
Hunters Creek Club was founded by Preston Mann in 1958 as Michigan's first pheasant hunting game preserve.
Preston spent summers at his uncle's hunting and fishing camp in the Missouri Ozarks. It was during those summers that he cut his teeth training dogs, hunting squirrels and quail, and burnished a lifelong passion for the outdoors.
With World War II raging, Preston felt called to serve his nation. When he enlisted and the recruiter inquired about his skill set, Preston scrambled for a reply, saying, “I’m a dog trainer, Sir.” He was shipped to Fort Robinson, Nebraska — home of the Army's Cavalry Post and K-9 Training Program.
After the war, Preston found himself back in Michigan, where he founded the Preston Mann K-9 School where dogs were trained in obedience, protection, and, most importantly, hunting. Pursuing a spark of passion for game bird hunting, and with a stroke of entrepreneurial genius, Preston lobbied state lawmakers to expand what was then a very limited bird season. Under the new legislation, stocked game preserves could be hunted nine months of the year, versus the few weeks allowed on public lands. His hunting dog operation was well primed for expansion.
Preston founded the Metamora Shoot in 1958, just a few miles down the road. In 1964 he partnered with Ed Wilson — son of Charles E. Wilson, former President of General Motors and Secretary of Defense under Dwight D. Eisenhower — and together they established Hunters Creek Club at its current location.
Preston's son, Charles P. Mann, carries on the family tradition as the club's president and CEO.
